Support Affordable Health Care in Washington

Most of us have seen our health care costs go up, but Washingtonians who must buy health insurance on the individual market face especially big increases. Low- and middle-income families often pay 30 percent or more of their income on premiums and deductibles.

Washington’s legislators are considering a Cascade Care bill to assure that the 300,000+ Washingtonians whose only option is the individual market have affordable access to health care when they need it.

Take action today and urge your legislators to pass a strong Cascade Care bill.

Cascade Care, HB1523 and SB5526, would assure quality and lower costs by creating state-designed standard plans, capping reimbursements to providers, and preventing insurance companies from siphoning off too large a share of premium dollars.  Not surprisingly, some in the medical industry are claiming they can’t provide care for less, despite the overpricing and excess executive compensation rampant in the system.

Tell your legislators to vote for a strong Cascade Care bill, including the quality and cost control measures that will make health care affordable on the individual market for small business owners, workers whose employers don’t provide coverage, and others without other options.
