No matter how much money we have, we should all be able to live in a home we can afford. But there are not enough available, affordable homes for everyone who needs one. That’s because the ultra-wealthy few don’t pay what they owe our communities in taxes, wield their power to block the creation of affordable homes near them, and block funding sources to build more of those homes.

That’s why we’re supporting a new, dedicated funding source for affordable homes through an increase in taxes on the sale of multi-million dollar mansions. This more progressive real estate excise tax will support the creation of all kinds of affordable homes.
