Across races and zip codes, most of us do our best to care for our communities. But the Big Oil Corporations who pollute the air we breathe and the water we drink are also keeping the ways they make their record profits a secret from public scrutiny.

That's why we’re coming together to demand that Big Oil corporations be held accountable for price gouging. The Oil Industry Accountability Act will force these corporations to open up their books and face big fines for market manipulation.

Please vote YES on Substitute Senate Bill 6052 to stop Big Oil corporations and other polluters from price gouging the people of Washington and pay for the pollution they dump into our communities.

No matter where we live in the state, we all want to preserve the natural beauty of Washington, and be able to rely on clean air to breathe and clean water to drink for generations to come. But big corporate polluters that damage our environment are hiding their pricing behind closed doors, allowing potential market manipulation to go unchecked.

Senate Bill 6052 would require oil companies to report data on pricing, profit, and transactions to the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission. It also would empower a new division in the commission to oversee oil industry pricing, investigate price-gouging, and issue fines.

The WUTC already regulates price gouging by natural gas and electric utilities, it’s only fair that oil producers should be subject to the same kind of oversight of their responsibility to the people of our beautiful state.

Please vote YES on SSB 6052 to protect Washington residents from price gouging by big corporate polluters.
